The Ghost's Court, and Trial of Kirin Anic

Post by Ghost »

This is the log of the Trial of Kirin Anic. OOC information / hidden actions / other stuff like that has been pruned.

Log session starting at 18:20:15 on Monday, 16 August 2021.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face speaks from the central
dais, his voice a hollow distorted one that might be recognizable to many in attendance, bearing a
slight echo from the acoustics of the room. He says, "I hereby call this Court to order. We have
gathered here today to witness the trial of Officer Kirin Anic, formerly the Commissioner of
CorpSec... I call upon the prosecution to make themselves known and gather at the accuser's table,
opposite the accused.", waving one hand at the prosecution's desk, "I also recognize that many here
today may not be familiar with the protocol of a Court... and so I will briefly summarize what is to
happen."

"First, the prosecution and defense will be called upon to make opening statements. I warn you
now... an opening statement is not meant to be the time in which you make your claims of guilt or
innocence; it is to summarize what you hope to accomplish here. After, I will call upon the
prosecution to present their claims, one at a time, as well as evidence that they may have for those
claims, and we will cross-examine that evidence. The defense will be given an opportunity to speak
on his behalf, as is required by Law."

a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's masked face angles
towards the crowd and adds, "I would encourage the prosecution to make as many claims as possible,
but warn you against making a claim with no evidence. Making a claim without evidence will only harm
your case in the eyes of the Law. Are there any questions before we begin? Once we start, none save
the prosecution and defense will be permitted to speak."

A praetorian guard with a bailiff's designation stands in silence as the explanation is given,
scanning the watchers once more before taking up his position near the dais with his arms crossed
against his lower back with an 'at-ease' gesture.

Ann stands up again, moving over to the prosecution's desk and places down her file on top of it,
her red eyes turning and looking over towards the crowd to see for who else it is that follows.

Isaia perks up like she knows she's supposed to be involved somehow when a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face speaks, but she's visibly nervous, and glances
around trying to take visual cues from others first. Once Ann stands up, she seems to confirm to
herself that she's supposed to, too, and she joins the other woman on the prosecution's side.

Kirin walks over to his table, casting a brief, stern gaze over the familiar and unfamiliar faces,
before his attention wholly goes back to a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face, the faceless one who stands upon the dias of his court.

Crimson looks around, sweating a bit and not seeming sure if she should be doing something.

Lara stands up and moves over to Ann after she moves to the prosecution table. She holds a log book
in hand and stands next to Ann and Isaia.

Crimson stands up and walks to the table aswell.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's faceless gaze bores into
Crimson for a moment as she hesitates, but moves on as she decides to join the prosecution's table.
He says in his distorted voice, "Given the number of those whom seem to have claims against Officer
Anic, I encourage you to appoint one of your number to speak for your group...", then looking across
the room again to see if everyone is ready to proceed.

"You may be seated then.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face
says towards room at large, since no one seems to be having any questions, "Let us begin.
Prosecution...", he turns his look towards Ann and her group, "Now is the time for your opening
statement."

Kirin offers a respectful nod towards a praetorian guard with a bailiff's designation, before his
gaze once again settles upon the faceless one, a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD is turned toward the
prosecution table. He tilts his head in what is probably cilent antecipation, standing stiffly in
his position.

Isaia can be seen quietly conferring with the rest of her table, wringing her hands and shaking her
head 'no' to the others while they elect a speaker.

Ann simply makes a nod to Isaia and hands on over three photos to Lara. Then, she is the one that
seems to simply step forward. "Jury, defendant, I will be the one to hold the opening statement."
She says, her hands placing in front of herself. "We, the parties with claims against mister Anic,
seek to see Justice served against the defendant for a number of various circumstances, deeds and
actions in disagreement with ongoing law." She says, keeping it relatively short.
Ann appears to be of Legendary charisma.

"The Court accepts the opening statement from the prosecution.", a man wearing a white porcelain
mask of a silently listening, angled face says in his distorted, hollow voice, the mask turning to
face Kirin and his desk, and says, "Defense, it is now your turn to make an opening statement, if
you so choose."

Kirin steps forward and nods at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face. "Adjudicator, I'm standing trial today to defend the good name of CorpSec from petty criminals
who think themselves above the Law. That is all." Kirin tells a man wearing a white porcelain mask
of a silently listening, angled face, resting his restrained hands atop his elevated desk for
comfort.

"The Court accepts the opening statement from the defense...", a man wearing a white porcelain mask
of a silently listening, angled face says from the raised dais, where he alone has remained
standing, though he shows little discomfort in doing so, "Prosecution, the Court is now ready to
hear your claims against Officer Anic. Present each claim one at a time, along with your evidence
for it, and I and the defense will cross-examine as is necessary. You may proceed at your own pace."

Lara is seated at the prosecution table waiting for when it is her turn to speak. She listens into
the prosecutions and defense's statements. Then nods when a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face is done speaking.

Ann slides back on over to the prosecution desk, where she's handed a piece of paper, giving it no
more than a brief glance. She looks over at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face, "I will begin then with the first claim, and this is the assault of Biodyne
intern Elizabeth Decker at the Xiaolong arena. The defendant was found to make his way there, seen
to argue on CCTV, as per testimonies provided about miss Decker being a third generation Scion,
demanding evidence she would not have and threatening to make her status as the first Scion to
appear since the war public would she refuse to hand over any such tests or evidence." She explains,
seeming to not hold back on that. "Insulted my wife for appearing in place there, then to depart to
return later to then suddenly attempt to arrest miss Decker without a warrant, then to shoot at her
for attempting to flee the scene, aiming for the back of her head."

She pauses, as the holoprojector in place comes with an access request. "This then resulted in
mister Anic attempting to shot Momoko, for no apparent cause several times before she reached for
her weapon to defend herself."

"I have witnessed video and audio footage from both that of the Arena, and the cameras that are
present in CorpSec armor, designed specifically to record as a safeguard against misconduct, worn by
Officer Anic at the time.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face says, his voice utterly emotionless and neutral with its distortion, "However, it is the
defense's right to speak on this matter before I do.", his face looks towards Kirin in wordless
offer for him to speak.

Kirin nods at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face, then cranes
his neck, watching Ann as he speaks, glancing at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face every so often. "Adjudicator, the prosecutors reasoning for my arrest is
nothing more than hearsay, with the prosecutor who represents the accussees, all having
contradicting reports on my official 'stated' reason for being present to conduct an arrest. I
attempted to arrest Citizen Elizabeth Decker on probable cause that she was in possession of illegal
weaponry. Current fugitive Momoko Ueno produced a Class Seven plasma sledgehammer to obstruct me
from my duties, at which point I fired upon the suspect as my training took over. Momoko Ueno
attempted to flee with Elizabeth Decker, and I cornered her in before ordering her submission for
arrest due to illegal weaponry. She refused and nearly murdered me, calling Lara Winters to assist
and obstruct an arrest, again, during our encounter. Elizabeth Decker, the same person who assissted
Momoko Ueno at a later stage in escaping justice and capture at my hands, by palming her a flashbang
to use against me for fleeing, which she successfully did and left me a target for any criminal
accomplice of theirs to finish off without a fight. The same Elizabeth Decker, who fetched a Class
Five weapon; prohibited for open carry, to use in Momoko Ueno's defense." Kirin says, shifting his
gaze from Ann to a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face.

"The matter of Miss Decker and her gift of the flashbang to Miss Ueno is separate from this current
charge, and we will get to that in time.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face says from the upraised dais, "As for the incident in the Arena, though the
Law makes no specific allowances for the disorientating effect of mayhem, the Court is sympathetic.
Disorder in the field can sway the even the most rigid sense of morality. However...", a man wearing
a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face pauses, "Questions are raised in my mind
as to why you chose to fire upon Miss Decker with your rifle, rather than subdue a resist of an
arrest and search by less lethal means, such as a stun baton. Furthermore, I wonder how you know
that Lara Winters would intervene with such confidence. She has never shown an inclination to
interfere with the Law in the past, and has no criminal record. Do you have answers for this,
Officer?"

Ann remains standing where she is, her expression indicating for her to be closely listening, though
there is not a single indication that might allow for anyone to gleam to her thoughts or feelings, a
carefully kept balance of maintaining an entirely professional demeanor.

Lara has set her book down after reading what she needed too and is listening in on the trial, one
after another as each person talks. She looks calm and collected, no real sign of a being nervous.

"I didn't have a stun baton on me, nor do I carry one as a Praetorian. Were it a first time criminal
with evidence, I would have, even with lack of training with such a rudimentary weapon. As a trained
Praetorian who understands the mind of a criminal, I approached the scene expecting the outcome that
happened, and got the results I expected. Elizabeth Decker's accomplice ousted herself. Had I
approached with a stun baton, I certainly would have been murdered, Adjudicator." Kirin tells a man
wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face, face stern. "As for Lara
Winters, we've secured evidence she came expecting trouble. I see no other reason to appear with
several highly trained guards at Momoko's beck and call without knowledge of the fugitives criminal
behaviors."

"Then you assert that you expected Miss Decker and Miss Ueno to fight you, rather than submit to an
arrest.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face replies from the
dais, "An arrest which, by the very same video and audio footage from your armor, you did not
declare the reasons for. The hard evidence that we have for the altercation at the Arena displays
that you said, 'You know the reason, the tests you had with Winters' as your answer when asked why
the arrest was being made. At no point was it made clear that you were detaining Miss Decker in
order to search her for illegal weapons, though you would have had probable cause, given that she
has been charged with such in the past.", the faceless man's distorted voice pauses, "But even if
that was not the case, you fired upon Miss Decker's head rather than attempting to disable her by
aiming at the legs or arms... would you attribute that to the chaos of combat as well? And Lara
Winters is well known for traveling with guards about her. What evidence do you have that she was
approaching, intending to intervene?"

Ann continues her silence, red eyes going between a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face and Kirin, there seemingly to be no need or request for her to speak right
now.

"That's part of my training. I shot to immobilize my target, as I would have anyone else when the
tables are turned against me. Yes, it was part of the chaos of combat, Adjudicator. As for Lara
Winters, we were given reports, available on our own database, that Lara Winters arrived at Momoko
Ueno's request and summoning, with the intention of expecting trouble and assisting two criminals."
Kirin tells a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face. "Regarding my
statement to Elizabeth Deckers, at no point did I demand a test, as the Prosecutors all claim among
other things for my citing of arrest. My 'reasoning' was to get Elizabeth Decker to submit without
inciting a reaction from her or her accomplice. Had I told her she was under arrest for probable
cause and suspicion of illegal possession, the situation would have gone worse. The prosecutors
claim I literally demanded tests, and footage fails to mention that entirely, as I never said it."
Kirin replies to a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face.

"I see. It is true that no explicit demand was made for tests during the incident, though you cited
tests as being the reasoning for the arrest. I will consider your testimony at length, and compare
it to the established evidence that has been collected, for when we reach the judgment stage.", a
man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says in his distorted voice,
standing like a statue. That same statue shifts towards the prosecution and says, "Prosecution, do
you have anything to add before we move on to your next claim?"

Lara stands up and tries to carry her small voice, "I was there to assist no one... I was there as a
doctor to make sure no one was hurt or dying... Yes Momoko texted me but I was not going to stand in
the way or assist anyone, CorpSec or not. My job in mind was to make sure no one was hurt as my duty
as a doctor." She sits back down after voicing her side.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face nods once, a subtle
maneuver, saying, "Thank you for your input, and declaration of your intentions. While it is
impossible to tell if those intentions were genuine at the time, what I know of your history and
demeanor makes it likely... in any case, does the prosecution have anything else to add? If not,
then you may move on to your next claim."

"Certainly, Jury." Ann says, her red eyes looking over at Kirin, though halting for a moment as she
looks over at Lara, a small smile shwoing as she shakes her head just a little bit. "Mister Anic,
from what it sounds, claims that he arrived on the scene, armed for combat. Claims that my wife
appeared to aid miss Decker and Momoko. He then claims to have attempted an arrest, claiming they
would have killed him. Yet, not a single mention of my wife on attacking him. Questions are raised
why he believed lethal force is necessary, and why hitting an unarmed woman with the butt of his
rifle is insufficient. I will be happy to reveal the circumstances as they were of the incident in
full, with the testimonies, as well as the CCTV footage taken from the arena. That the arrest was
attempted mere days after miss Decker put up a petition to see mister Anic removed from his
position, is also something to remember."

Ann takes a deep breathe in. "Proceeding onward, in the order of events as they are known to me, I
believe the next circumstance is mister Anic appearing at the Biodyne hospital, asking for a
targeting laser, a service I explained were and continue to be, uncomfortable to provide in sight
that he assaulted a Biodyne employee, as well as a third generation Scion, in which we had been
asked to maintain silence on. Mister Anic then started to pose threats against me, claiming we would
be obstructing the law by refusing service, and then questioned under what circumstances I believed
to regain my licenses and how I believed to be in my right to speak for Biodyne, and when he could
not lead any further there, convicted me for something I've already been convicted for by you
yourself, Jury. I pointed several cameras out, and considering the insanity I sometimes am asked of,
a voice recording camera was placed above the reception desk for liability concerns, this means that
the full video footage is available."

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD quietly makes his way back
into the courtroom, motioning a few new arrivals to their seats with equal cilence. He moves back to
his place with the other officers that are guarding the proceedings.

"The matter of the disagreement at the hospital is well known to the Court, as is the fallout that
was caused from the encounter. However, your prior banning from medicine is a matter of CorpSec
record, and while it technically never did prohibit you from practicing cybernetic work, that quirk
of the Law is ultimately meaningless, as that ban expired before the confrontation took place.", the
masked man pauses, then turns to Kirin and says, "It is already known to the Court that you levied a
large fine against Biodyne's chairwoman; however, corporations and individuals have always had the
right to refuse service, a right which I have upheld despite being banned personally in the past. For
clarity's sake, enlighten the Court as to why you felt it necessary to inflict such a fine upon the
chairwoman?"

Skyla arrives from the north with a soft, delicate step.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD offers a nod to Skyla as
he escorts her into the courtroom, watching as she is scanned. Once thats done, he moves to closes
thee doors, eyes scanning the large crowd of people for a moment.

Noting the latest arrival, Deja turns her head and offers a subtle upnod to Skyla, as if inviting
her to sit close by should she happen to take notice. [Deja]

The flick of an aquamarine gaze over the courtroom attendees brings Skyla's attention to Deja. At
the woman's silent invitation, a grateful smile lifts the corners of her own lips. Slipping from her
seat, she flits toward the other woman, slipping into the nearest seat available with a silently
mouthed, 'Thank you.' [Skyla]

"I fined her for nine counts of illegal firearm possession. Adjudicator, did you bring them as
evidence as I requested? As within my right of the law, which I uphold, I fined Antoinette Winters
for nine counts of illegal firearm posession, for each illegal assault rifle she failed to turn in
to CorpSec after my grace period. I am within my right to fine her, and find no problem with fining
a chairwoman for their crimes. Title and status mean little to me when upholding the Law,
Adjudicator. Her title as Chairwoman, and position within Biodyne, does not grant her special
privileges when facing the extent of the Law." Kirin tells a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face, standing with military posture despite his civvies.

Deja favors Skyla with a tentative smile in return before turning her attention back to the dais and
the proceedings ongoing there. The smile slips from her face, and she watches on in silence.

"Noted. Though I would caution you against over-confidence. Just like Miss Winters' position as
Chairwoman does not make her above the Law, your position in CorpSec, either former or current, will
not protect you in the Court. No one is above the Law.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face says in the hollow, distorted voice, "However, there is an
inconsistency in your rebuttal. Biodyne's chairwoman was already fined for the assault rifles that
she delivered to CorpSec, after the grace period had ended. While the fine she received at the time
was relatively low, it was known at the time that she had surrendered nine illegal firearms. There
is no precedent in the Law for re-opening a case without further evidence, in order to change the
judgement of that case. Did you believe that your status as Commissioner gave you the ability to
alter already closed cases?", he pauses, "And what of the notion that you fined Winters for refusing
to provide service? Did that factor into your decision?"

Ann tilts her head a little bit, though a hint of disbelief adds to her expression as she continues
to listenas Kirin speaks.

As Kirin speaks, Skyla's attention travels to him. Delicate hands curl into balls within her lap,
her gaze fixed upon the man with a frigid, sharp-eyed glare. A tick works in her jaw, her mouth
playing host to thin-lipped disapproval. [Skyla]

"No, it had no part in my decision, though I noted her lack of ability to cooperate with me, there
and after she blacklisted me in rebuttal to the fine. My decision to fine her for nine counts of
illegal firearm possession came after you saw it fit to fine her one-thousand credits for such a
crime, after she previously handed over twenty assault rifles over to you during the grace period
without including the latter submission. Possession is still possession, and my actions were done
based on your leniency for Antoinette Winters who evidently failed to learn when she failed to
submit the second cache of weapons over to you with the original batch. I did that as Commissioner,
after you failed to listen to my command of seeing to it that she is fined fairly, without the full
charge applied, of which you failed entirely." Kirin replies to a man wearing a white porcelain mask
of a silently listening, angled face.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD can't help himself but
shake his head, even as he continues to stiffly stand at his designated position in the courtroom,,
expression hiden by his visor's surface.

"Then you admit to twisting the Law in order to break with precedent and tradition in order to re
-open a case because you disagreed with the decision that I made at the time; a decision which was
based on extenuating circumstances and the fact that Winters had cooperated in the disarmament of
her employees.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face replies
in the distorted, hollow voice, emotionless. The faceless mask looks towards the prosecution's desk
and says, "I believe that I have heard enough on this charge. Is there anything the prosecution
wishes to add? If not, please continue to your next claim."

Relief floods the muted blue of Beck's eyes from her huddled space high in the amphitheater at a man
wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's words. A knee is dragged
upward, willowy arms linking around the shin and creasing the floral lining of the flipped down boot
that covers it. Said knee provides a perch for her chin to rest upon.

"I would like to provide the contextual circumstance. The first cache of weapons that an anonymous
source returned to me that Yosemite has previously taken. There has been a long standing disarmament
process within Biodyne as well as Paradeus as we deem that the only use an assault rifle has, is to
shoot civilians. The second shipment, three of which were taken from my immediate guard, hired
specifically because they were licensed, if those were revoked, I was not made aware and will
penalize them accordingly, nonetheless, six of them were taken from the Biodyne armory," Ann offers,
her brows furrowing a little bit. "I previously believed that Amy had removed them, this was not the
case, so I took care of it."

Her shoulders rise in a shrug, and she shakes her head, that tad bit of disbelief growing. "The
next one, in the order of things happening, should be the second assault onto miss Decker. Though
she has committed her own crime at that time, she was fired upon after having been cuffed. Besides
wishing to add, that considering mister Anic's history to this point of time, which does not include
miss N.'s case as she does not stand with the proescution, which has been overly violent and brutal,
I would not consider miss Decker's actions particularly condemnable. As the jury was present at the
time, I do not believe I have anything more to add. No warning was issued by myself to miss Decker,
as she was shot at and it was deemed that more punishing, would not serve to correct her behavior.
Nonetheless, she was confronted and the matter was spoken about."

"It is true that I was personally present for the incident that you describe, and in fact was the
one who placed Miss Decker under arrest to begin with.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face says from the raised dais, waving with one hand acceptingly, "For
those in the Court who are unaware, CorpSec had learned that the wanted criminal Momoko Ueno had
been aided in her escape from apprehension by use a flashbang; which Miss Decker had given her
previously. It was that action which caused Officer Anic and I to apprehend her that day. It is also
undeniably true by that Officer Anic fired upon Miss Decker after she had submitted to arrest.
However...", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's face turns
towards Kirin, "Much like with the Xiaolong Arena, I am willing to concede that the chaos of a
confrontation and Miss Decker's initial resistance may have been a contributing factor to the...
moral confusion that was showed. With this in mind, does the defense have a statement about the
incident in question?"

"Objection. If Niander wanted to present her case she would have joined the prosecution. As she has
not, I'd like to remind Antoinette to leave those affairs of my 'overly violent and brutal'
sentencing of her to Bodie outpost for repeated crimes out of this entirely." Kirin says, looking
over to Ann stern faced before facing a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening,
angled face again. "That's all, Adjudicator."

"I'll speak up if the prosecution desires it, actually," a smallish voice comes from Beck, projected
just audibly enough to be detected, "Fella fabricated 'repeated crimes' out of the air and
threatened to torture me if I didn't make up a story to let him go after some other person I don't
even know, which CorpSec's got on camera."

Kirin fishes a cigarette out of a pair of formal looking black pants made from synth-cotton and
proceeds to light it up, taking a long drag from it as his gaze watches a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face.

Ann turns on over to Beck and nods her head, gesturing to the place next to herself. "Please, miss
Niander, as he seems to have caught up swiftly to whom I was referring to with miss N."

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's face snaps towards Beck,
and says, "I caution you against speaking out of turn, Miss Niander. The defense is being offered
the opportunity to present a justification for firing upon an already arrested civilian, and your
case is not being discussed at this time. If you wish to join the prosecution's desk in order to
press a claim against Officer Anic, then do so, but do not interrupt the Court's processes again.";
he looks towards Kirin and says, "Now. Do you wish to present a statement on the incident at the
Crimson Veil?"

Beck lifts her hands in the general direction of Ann, the 'what can you do?' implied but not
explicitly said. A lip-zipping motion is made by running her fingertips across her mouth.

"You spoke for my reasoning on the events at the Crimson Veil, Adjudicator." Kirin replies to a man
wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face as he exhales a large cloud of
smoke afterwards, stern faced still, for now. [Kirin]

Lara is still sitting quietly watching the court proceedings happen not making an emotions just the
occasional shift in her chair from time to time.

"I did not. I said that I was willing to concede that a tense situation can lead to ones morality
being degraded, and hasty, poorly thought out actions.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face says in the distorted voice, "But as you wish.", his face looks
towards Beck then, and says, "Miss Niander. Approach and speak. As the defense seems to have nothing
to add to the claim involving the Crimson Veil, the Court would hear your account of misconduct on
the part of Officer Anic.", he indicates one hand towards the prosecution's desk to Beck. While his
voice is emotionless, the context of his words and his hand is an unsubtle command for Beck to
contribute.

Ann smiles at Beck.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face adds after a moment,
"Provided, of course, that you have evidence for your claim... if you have no evidence, then I can
only judge your words as hearsay."

Looking supremely uncomfortable, posture tight as a steel spring and complexion draining its way
steadily into that unappealing, sour milk color, Beck stands up and folds her hands in front of
herself before descending the steps one by one - aggravatingly slowly, actually - to come at least
within range of the desk, "Alright, well, I picked the lock on the northern apartment on floor five
of Dollanganger Tower, went inside and stayed the night. Next morning I left. I cleaned up the place
as some kind of fu-- uhm," the expletive hovers riiight on the top of her tongue, the reroute coming
at the last moment, "...some kind of backwards apology before leaving. About two weeks later it
still wasn't sitting right, so I walked into CorpSec and asked to speak to an officer so I could
report a break-in. Gave the location, the date it happened, and that it was me who did as much. At
this point I was handcuffed, which makes sense. What makes less sense is being interrogated for the
better part of a day, told to confess - which is why I went in there in the first place - and told
to give him information on somebody called 'Kai Dara.' I have no clue who that is, and told him as
much until I was blue in the face. He pointed at the security camera and said he has 'ways of making
me talk.' When once again I mentioned I walked in there of my own accord to tell him what I actually
did do, and I wouldn't be making shit up about somebody else to make him happy, he charged me six
times for the same offense, fined me two thousand and one hundred credits, and sentenced me to super-
max labor camp for an additional amount. All this without making a report of any kind or ever
indicating I had been present at CorpSec, according to the Adjudicator after the fact." A look is
directed at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face that carries
some legitimate hardness, "You want evidence, you should have checked your interrogation room camera
footage the first time I told you what went down. As I'm sure you know, I don't have access to that
shi-- mm. Stuff."

"The inconsistency with your presence in CorpSec is already known to me, having been the one to meet
you after you were returned from prison; however, you did not inform me of the rest of that at the
time, only telling me that you had returned from the prison and was looking to get your possessions
back. If you had, I would have pulled such footage to check.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask
of a silently listening, angled face directs towards Beck, afterwards looking towards Kirin and
asking, "Officer Anic, what do you have to say to this claim? The prosecution alleges that you
abused your authority to apply a punishment far harsher than what the Law allows for the crime
committed."

"Adjudicator, this criminal who thinks themselves of some moral complexity based on turning
themselves in, admitted to several break ins, two within Dollanganger Tower, alone. I didn't 'fine
her six times for the same offense' instead, I sentenced her to max labor at Bodie Post, informing
her she wouldn't have to worry about 'food' or a 'bed' while there working to repay her debts to
society. That was a decision I made, knowing very well, that Beck Niander would just go and break
into yet another apartment in that month alone to steal and pawn off goods to repay her fine. I
didn't want to encourage that behavior, and thought the labor would teach her about hard work
instead of profiting off of the hard work of others, but it would seem she hasn't learnt a thing
since. I deny the entirity of her allegations as false. Her slander won't stand here, and I'm
surprised she's wasting our time. I didn't make any reports at the time because our database was
giving me problems around the same time I processed her." Kirin tells a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face, drawing from his cigarette again.

Kirin's vehement response sends Skyla's eyebrows climbing toward her hairline. Eyes narrow at the
level of contempt displayed, a disgusted look flicked in that direction before her attention fixes
upon the next speaker.

"You and I are both well aware of the fact that breaking and entering does not carry a sentence in a
super-max prison.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says
from the raised dais to Kirin, "And you cannot deny the entirety of her claim when you yourself have
just said that you sentenced her to labor at the Bodie prison colony.", a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face looks over at Beck for a moment, his expression
invisible behind his mask, "... This claim makes me feel uneasy, as though I have forgotten
something that I should not..."; he raises his gauntlet and taps into it, a holoscreen springing to
life upon it, saying, "One thing is correct in this claim; and that is that anything said or done
within one of the interrogation rooms will have records. I am requesting them to be compiled and
sent to me. Once they are, they will be presented for the Court. In the mean time, I would hear of
your next claim, prosecution."
=
"Yeah, I told you about at the time, Adjudicator, but considering I was basically sobbing my eyes
out..." Beck's shoulders lift a little, as if she'd been considering a shrug but thought better of
it, "...I think you can be forgiven for letting it slip."

Kirin exhales a plume of smoke and narrows his eyes at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face. "Right, right. For the sake of getting this shit over with, I plead
guilty to all claims against me so far and any still pending. I don't have time for this shit, eh?
I've got things to do, and a bunch of angsty teens that make up the prosecution are holding me up
from that." Kirin tells a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face,
glancing at the prosecution desk as he takes another drag from his cigarette before resting his gaze
back on a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face. "Happy,
Adjudicator? Let's hear the crimes they lodge against me, in practised rehearsal, and then charge me
for them, so I can fuck off already."

Ann nods her head, her red eyes focusing onto a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face again. "I am going to jump several hoops forward on the accusations, before
turning back to a multitude thereof on a central point," she explains, breathing in through her nose
again. "The torture of Miguel Castelnuovo. Though not present at this time, miss Constantinova was
asked to represent them, and as I am speaking, myself in turn. Mister Anic burnt out mister
Castelnuovo' eye and conducted torture onto prisoners in his care. The severity thereof, is
particularly noticeable, to a point that it gotten the jury themself to arrest mister Anic. I am
also asking for mister Anic to be reminded that public swearing bears a fine of fifty credits."

Beck holds up her fingers and stares at them, counting off her own swear words or partial swear
words up until now. A wary look is turned sidelong at a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face as she folds three fingers down, grimacing at whatever calculations
she's making in her mind.

Shrugging a summery crochet bag of tan, worsted yarn with shell beads from her shoulder with a
single motion, Skyla tugs it across into her lap instead. Her fingers curl lightly about the main
flap, gently worrying at the tiny crochet holes as her disgruntled gaze drifts from person to
person.

Recording footage from the gauntlet comes online and makes a visual display as Commissioner Anic and
one Beck Niander enter the interrofation room. She's made to strip of her outter wear as he searches
it, asking who the key in her wallet belongs to. She responds 'Case'. He asks for his last name and
she says not sure. He asks why she has diving equipment, she replies it's for diving - she goes out
to the sealab to dive and sell gems she brings up sometime.

The recording continues as he starts asking about a Kai Dara. TechCrime notes during this part of
the conversation via a seperate holofeed that there is no record of a 'Kai Dara' in their database
matching any known criminal or investigation. She again says she doesn't know who that is. He asks
if she'd ever seen something illegal in anyone's apartment, and she says not that she can recall. He
then points directly at the security camera and says, quote, "I have ways of making you talk." She
starts shaking, but says nothing. He then lists off six charges of breaking and entering, two
charges of burglary, and sentences her to hard labor camp while mocking her for being poor, saying
"at least you'll have a bed."

Once again shakes his head, no sound leaving his mask as he continues to stand guard. An arm raises
for a moment, fingers moving in a cilent signal,, the two officers that are standing next to him
sudenly snap to atention, one of them blinking behind his visor. a man wearing a reinforced, opaque
security visor with inbuilt combat HUD snaps his head to the center of the room as Kirin speaks, the
officer still remaining motionless at his post.

Isaia maintains a fairly neutral expression while she watches the camera feed, folding her arms
across her chest to keep herself still.

"I believe that the recording offers sufficient evidence for me on that claim.", a man wearing a
white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says when his gauntlet pipes up with a
short lived video. a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face's
faceless gaze looks towards Kirin and the prosecution desk, and says, "Very well, if you are
determined not to make a defense for yourself...", he looks more direction at the prosecution, "The
torture of Miguel Castelnuovo is already a matter known to this Court, as I was the one to stumble
across it. Since the defense as decided to plead guilty, do you have any other claim to put forward
before I move on to judgment?"

"Let's get it over with." Kirin says, exhaling a cloud of smoke before he takes another drag of the
remains left, before putting it out on his own handcuffs. His eyes cast between a man wearing a
white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face and the prosecutors desk, looking
thoroughly miffed.

Skyla's small hands ball themselves up into fists, crumpling the fabric of her bag between them.
When Kirin is shown mocking Beck for her poverty, Skyla's lower lip quivers, her expression awash
with sympathy even as her gaze radiates a silent fury.

The mild furrow in Deja's brow has, by this point, managed to evolve into a full-on frown. Her
shoulders lift as she inhales a deep breath and then lower as she exhales it slowly, her hands held
calmly still all the while. When she notices Skyla worrying at her purse, the Saturni only then
reaches over to touch her gently on the wrist, as if to provide some reassurance.

"There is much more," Ann says, as emotions just seem to vanish from her expression, not because of
the video footage just provided, but for what she is about to say. "I am accusing mister Anic of
waging war upon its citizen, for killing CorpSec officers, several charges of misconduct with the
unlawful blockade, the death of several people. Mister Anic drove his tank in at an earlier time on
that day, and, from what was broadcasted on the news, killing people with his tank, just to tow in
Momoko's vehicle. He then later, decided to take the same tank into the same place, against the
advice of several of his advisors and officers."

Ann continues "He knowingly went into a situation he knew for a fact, would result in a battle,
considering his previous history, of him assaulting Momoko until she acted in self defense, which,
of course does not free her of her own crime, but needs to be considered. He drove a weapon of war
into little Kabukicho, knowing that the Syndicate would fight back. I accuse him of sacrificing his
own officers, equal to that of an act of killing one, to acquire the causa to push the Syndicate
into a civil war. This does not condemn them from all charges, no one is claiming that. But
considering the context, his history, his actions, if he had shown up with a tank at Biodyne and
demanded a search, even we would have refused him and opened fire the moment he had attempted to
force it. A man of violence demanding for people to stand down, when he has convicted them horribly,
like miss Niander, assaulted them previously, could you really trust that he would not try
something? Especially knowing you are guilty? Mister Anic is the cause for the civil war, for the
strikes, for all this bu- llying that transpired."

Cutting a sidelong glance to Deja when she feels the gentle touch alight upon her wrist, Skyla
proffers a tremulous smile of gratitude. Her fingers relax their death grasp upon her bag as she
inhales a fortifying breath, evidently comforted by that small show of kindness.

Kirin stands there listening to the crimes hes accussed of, resting his hands against the defenders
desk, placing the filter of his cigarette atop its surface, before he decides to light another
cigarette moments later.

Isaia can be seen murmuring to the others behind the prosecutor's table with her, canting her head
towards Beck in particular.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face listens to Ann's listing
with a patience reflected on the very mask that he wears, and then he says, "I have heard much talk
of a 'civil war', as though the Syndicate's act of rebellion has split the Sector in two. It has
not. Natsukashi may currently be defying CorpSec authority, but every other area within the Sector
is still lawful. It is not the opinion of this Court that Officer Anic can be held responsible for
the deaths of CorpSec officers during the Natsukashi riots, as those riots were sparked by the
Syndicate first firing upon legal authority. While the attempted search and seizure on the Syndicate
manor was not the most advised action, and indeed, Officer Anic ignored the counsel of myself and
Praetorian Redgrave in doing it, it was the Syndicate who shot at CorpSec, refusing to yield to a
legal warrant."

a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face looks about the courtroom,
and adds, "When it comes to the matter of Officer Anic running civilians over in his tank when
chasing down a fugitive's car, I will consider the video evidence presented in the news. I will also
consider escalation of the blockades and tariffs that he raised when faced with opposition from
those disapproving of his actions...", he looks at Kirin and says, "Do you have any closing remarks
for the Court, Officer Anic?"

Kirin takes a long draw of his cigarette, knowing he's thoroughly fucked with the new list of
charges lobbied against him. He rests his gaze on the embers of his cigarette, elbows rested atop
the defendees desk, hands cradling his face - a posture anything from the usual and moments ago,
until now.

"Without proof, it can't matter, though," Isaia mutters aside to Crimson with a shrug of one
shoulder before re-crossing her arms. [Isaia]

Isaia sits up a little straighter and looks firmly down at the table, apparently realizing she was
speaking a little more loudly than she intended to.

"If a man consistently goes to extremes, when you drive in with a tank, a weapon of war, twice over,
and then expect for a search to go smoothly without being shot at? When there are multiple assaults,
and acts against people he disagreed with, I do not think that there is a more deliberate way to
cause for someone to shoot at you, be it Syndicate or anyone else," Ann says, taking a sharp breathe
in. She dips her head towards a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face, "I thank the jury for holding the court and trust that adequate punishment will be brought
upon mister Anic." She straightens, taking a step back.

"There's no rest in this world. Perhaps in the next, eh?" Kirin replies to a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face, straightening himself up as he exhales smoke
through words, taking another long pull from the cigarette.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face snaps his head at Ann and
says, "If the Naoshima Syndicate had reason to believe that Officer Anic would commit misconduct
during the search and seizure warrant, then what they should have done is submit to the legal
warrant, and then bring their misgivings or grievances to this Court. This Trial was already planned
when the riots took place; there was no excuse for violent defiance in the face of legal authority,
particularly when there was already a venue forming for them to air their grievances in the lawful
way. Make no mistake, the Syndicate is the one responsible for the riots, and everything that
followed.", he pauses, "Now that that matter is done with, I will move on to judgment..."

"Officer Anic. For the claim of Assault against Miss Elizabeth Decker, this Court finds you
Guilty.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says towards
Kirin, facing him directly, "It is true that there was confrontation and chaos in the Arena,
however, it is the opinion of this Court that your training as a Praetorian should have prevented
you from committing rash action. Even then, we would have found you innocent, if you had not fired
upon Miss Decker's head. Such a targeting can only be interpreted as an intent to kill, and so we
find you guilty of Assault..."; a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face continues to speak as he goes down the charges.

"For the claim of abuse of power by re-opening the case against Chairwoman Winters to apply a
stiffer punishment, this Court finds you Innocent.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face continues, "While traditionally, decisions are not overturned after
the fact, there is nothing in the letter of the Law that prevents the Commissioner from doing so at
their discretion. It is generally speaking, simply a bad idea, showing little faith in the judgment
of your subordinates. But not illegal."

Kirin listens to the charges being read out by a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently
listening, angled face, puffing harder on his cigarette as he awaits his final judgement, or lack
thereof.

"For the claim of Mistreatment of a Prisoner, by shooting Miss Decker after she had already
submitted to an arrest, this Court finds you Guilty.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face says towards Kirin, continuing onwards, "Much like in the Arena, you
have the experience and training to know better than to react so violently in a situation. Miss
Decker had already submitted to an arrest, and you had no legal cause to fire upon her."

"For the claim of Perversion of Justice, by sentencing Miss Beck Niander to an overly harsh
punishment for a relatively minor crime, this Court finds you Guilty.", a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face continues to list in his hollow, distorted
voice, "Video evidence proves that you did just that, and while your opinion on the poor is not a
matter for this Court to judge, it is not within the Law to sentence a first offender to hard labor
in a super-max prison for a simple breaking and entering, nor to deliver such a high fine for it."

"For the claim of Torturing a Prisoner, in this case being Mister Miguel Castelnuovo, this Court
finds you Guilty.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says
once more, like the pronouncement of doom, "Having been the one to personally come across what you
did to the man, in putting out his eye with a cigarette, among other things, you had no legal nor
moral right to inflict such injuries against a prisoner. It is not in CorpSec policy to torture
those imprisoned, and to do so is the grossest form of abuse."

"For the Vehicular Homicide of Civilians, being the claim that you ran over others with your tank,
this Court finds you Guilty.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face says at Kirin, ignoring all others in the room for the moment, "The video evidence that was
broadcast upon the news displays your guilt for all to see, and whether or not it was intentional
does not alter the fact that it was wrong to do so. Pursuing a criminal's vehicle was well within
your job as an Officer of CorpSec; but we are called upon to protect and serve the public, not to
harm them."

At first, a man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD raises fingers
to try and count the 'guilty' charges. But then he shakes his head as a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face continues to give his verdict and lowers his
hand and shrughs, listening to the veredict with clear interest, head tilting slightly.

"And finally... for the claim of being the ultimate cause behind the Natsukashi Riots, and being
responsible for the deaths of CorpSec officers that ensued therein...", a man wearing a white
porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says, hesitating significantly, the time
lengthening, "This Court finds you Guilty. While the Syndicate are the ones to have started the
riots by firing first, there is something to be said for the argument that the decision to prosecute
that warrant, in that time and place, was a contributing factor. Seeing as how you ignored your
subordinates advice in waiting for a better time and using a less provoking vehicle, it is the
opinion of this Court that you share the guilt for the riots with the Syndicate. Nothing will
absolve the Syndicate of what has happened in Natsukashi, but that does not excuse you of your role
within causing it."

Isaia folds her hands one atop the other on the desk, now staring expressionless across the
courtroom at Kirin.

"This judgment is supported by precedent. When Atticus Bridger aided a man in murdering a CorpSec
officer, the Provost Marshal at the time judged him guilty in sharing the responsibility for the
murder, as those events could not have taken place if Bridger had not acted the way he did. It is
the opinion of this Court that this is a similar situation. If you had not acted rashly, with no
thought as to the opposition that you knew we would face, when I and the others advised you of what
might happen, I do not believe the Riots would have happened.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask
of a silently listening, angled face says towards Kirin, "And our fallen Officers would be alive
now, and the Four who were taken captive, would not have. Therefore... I judge you guilty. There is
only one punishment that I can levy for guilt in the death of CorpSec Officers. Execution."

Kirin remains silent and furrows his brows, puffing on one of his last cigarettes hard.

"Bailiff. Remove the defendant and prepare for the sentence to be carried out.", a man wearing a
white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face says, calling towards a praetorian guard
with a bailiff's designation, "It gives me no pleasure to pass this judgment, but this Trial, and
Justice, has spoken. You were never held to the same expectations as the civilians, Officer Anic.
They conduct themselves as they will, with perhaps too many allowances for their disruptive
behavior. Frankly... I held your performance to a higher standard."

A grave expression settles over Skyla's face as her eyes drift from the judge to Kirin. [Skyla]

Ann is standing where she is with the prosecution, her expression a representation of the
seriousness of the entire situation written onto it.

The bailiff approaches Kirin with a steady but solemn step and places a gloved hand on his shoulder.
Afterwards he takes out his cuffs and fastens them securely should the man consent. Otherwise, he'd
be forced to do it the hard way. They both depart moments later.

Kirin cooperates.

Re: The Ghost's Court, and Trial of Kirin Anic

Post by Ghost »

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD leaves his spot in the
courtroom, slowly making his wayy to a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening,
angled face's side. "Will you be needing any assistance?" the sergeant asks the praetorian.

Isaia stays seated, her focus falling off the prisoner as the baliff takes him away. She stares into
space, deep in thought judging by the subtle back and forth flickering of her eyes.

Crimson slowly removes her glasses and exhales out of her nose a bit, glancing to the people sitting
aside her and then to Ann then back to the Judge.

Skyla stirrs slowly once the sentence is pronounced and the defendant led away. First to move are
her hands, rising to shakily slip the strap of a summery crochet bag of tan, worsted yarn with shell
beads over her head, settling it across her shoulder. The next to move are her feet, then her legs,
shuffling and stretching in turns. Her expression remains grave, her eyes downcast and gaze solemn.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face is silent as the defendant
is carried out, then raises one hand to his masked forehead, saying, "Justice is more than words on
parchment or tablets of Law. Some may call it arbitrary or needless, as if mere words could diminish
its importance. There is greater meaning behind such things than most can ever know... my adherence
to the Law and to Justice pull me in opposite directions. I am... conflicted. This has shaken many
of my core beliefs..."; it's only then that he seems to realize he's started rambling, and looks up
to notice a man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD. He says,
"Sergeant. Please escort the prosecution and the witnesses to the Trial to the lobby, so they can
depart as they will. Then join me in the execution chambers if you so desire."

Lara is sitting up in her chair looking over to the former commissioner as he is taken away. Her
face shows little expressions like before though shows one that is more exhausted than anything.

Crimson slowly stands up, assuming this is it.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD offers a salute to a man
wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face, before he turns to thee
atending people. "If you all would, please, follow me," he says, exaustion clear in hiss voice,
"I'll escourt you all to the lobby."

Beck stands and edges toward the door, ostensibly preparing to follow after a man wearing a
reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD with the rest of the gathered.

It takes Isaia an extra second to realize she's been prompted to leave; she snaps back to earth and
stands up quickly, following a man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat
HUD.

Ann controls her breathing as she takes a deeper one in and she reaches out with a hand to Lara, her
other hand reaching for her peacoat and labcoat. "Let's go Lara, Isaia. Let's just go. I think we
all would like some fresh air."

Crimson trails off, "I'd like some fresh air indeed..."

Skyla rises to her feet with the rest of the court. Instead of making her way to in-, however, she
picks her way slowly toward the front of the courtroom and a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a
silently listening, angled face's bench, now that the trial is officially over. She approaches as
near as she is able before likely being apprehended by Corpsec personnel. She gestures silently,
motioning a need to speak with a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled
face.

Isaia... probably gets her purse back eventually, despite its questionable contents?

Lara stands up and nods to Ann, while taking her hand, "Let's go love." She mutters under her breath
following the women so they can leave the courtroom.

A man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face descends from the dais,
and walks up to the stairs with little fanfare, his face hidden behind the mask. Partway up the
stairs, he notices Skyla nearby, and steps over to her, silently waiting to hear what she would say.

Deja rises with the others and, like Skyla, makes for the Judge instead of the lobby, politely
waiting for her turn.

"I'll take them to the lobby and then come back," a man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor
with inbuilt combat HUD says to the praetorian, raising a hand to motion for the other officers to
allow the group to leave. The officer is cilent as they begin to walk.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD begins to move north.

A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD opens the northern door.
A man wearing a reinforced, opaque security visor with inbuilt combat HUD leaves north.

Ann leaves north.
Crimson leaves north.
Lara leaves north.
Isaia leaves north.
Beck leaves north.

"Sir," Skyla murmurs, addressing a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening,
angled face with a grave demeanor. "May I witness the execution? I..." She gestures vaguely with one
trembling hand before drawing in a fortifying breath. "I am furious with him for the actions he
perpetuated against innocents, but at the end of this day, what use is holding a grudge when it will
be mine to bear alone? Despite the monstrous acts he committed, I don't... I don't think anyone
should die alone without someone on the sidelines to stand for them."

"If you wish. I would normally deny that sort of request, but I find myself in a less than resolved
mood, now that the trial is over.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening,
angled face says with a shrug to Skyla. He looks towards Deja and says, "Exalted One."

"I would do the same, Officer, though for different reasons," Deja speaks up, stepping forward to
stand at Skyla's side. "I believe there is a precedent for broadcasting these sorts of things?"

"There is not. Since I have joined CorpSec, I have only seen one execution, and that was not
broadcast. I do not intend to fill the airwaves with the image of a man dying from lethal injection.
If you wish to attend, then fine, but I will not allow recording.", a man wearing a white porcelain
mask of a silently listening, angled face says to Deja in his distorted voice.

"Two. Two executions.", a man wearing a white porcelain mask of a silently listening, angled face
corrects himself, "I may be losing my mind... but either way. Neither was broadcast on the news save
for an announcement that it happend, which I will handle."

"I was under the impression that the President's execution was broadcast, but very well. Then I
shall be Miss Windsor's support," Deja replies with a dip of her head, not wishing to hold things up
further.

The Ghost, Skyla, and Deja leave the Amphitheater.
